Get Real! Learn from the Experts at April Meeting
Need advice on a certain project or want some fresh ideas? Come learn how other business communicators have dealt with government communications, mass vs. individual communications, explaining complicated issues to the layperson, communicating with
employees who aren't connected to the Internet, working with outside agencies vs. creating marketing communications programs from within, and crisis communications. You'll get the chance to pick the brains of our panel of veteran business communicators and learn from their experience.
We've asked these IABC/Tucson senior business communicators to share
their expertise:
- Laura Hagen Fairbanks, Community Relations Manager, Pima County Wastewater Management
- Kathy Hippensteel, Marketing Manager, Hughes Federal Credit Union
- Libby Howell, Corporate Communications Administrator, Southwest Gas Corporation
When: April 5, 2007, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Where: McMahon's Prime Steakhouse, 2959 N. Swan Road, Tucson, AZ
Cost: Members $18 with reservation or $25 at the door. Guests $25.
RSVP by April 3 to Mimi Villafane, mimivgib@yahoo.com. No-shows will be billed. When registering, be sure to indicate meat or vegan entree (menu details TBA).

Looking for a Few Good Board Members
We’re planning ahead and looking for a few good board members to lead our chapter in 2007/2008. If you are interested in learning more about IABC and having a great time working with a group of communications pros, call Mimi Villafane at 744-2944, ext 1363 to submit your name for next year’s chapter Board.
Help Pick a New Meeting Place
Want to try out lunch menus for the chapter? You can by helping your board choose a new site for the chapter's monthly meetings. We will pick three top possibilities and you get to help make a site inspection and try the food. It's part of the board's plan to improve the logistics of our monthly meetings to make it easier and more pleasant for folks to attend. The board also wants suggestions for a meeting place. Make your suggestions or volunteer to Elena Acoba, acoba@dakotacom.net.
